G-Town Trails is a community trail network project operated by Ama Wilderness NPC.
The network is intended for mountain bikers, trail runners, hikers, walkers and families who wish to enjoy the outdoors responsibly.
Choose the Right Trail
Select trails appropriate to your fitness level and technical ability.
Review trail descriptions and difficulty ratings before starting.
Be Prepared
Carry sufficient water, especially during warmer months.
Consider carrying a mobile phone, basic repair equipment and emergency contact information.
Ride and Run Within Your Limits
Maintain a safe speed and remain in control at all times.
Slow down around blind corners and in shared-use areas.
Respect Other Users
The trail network is shared by cyclists, runners, walkers and dog owners.
Be courteous, communicate clearly when passing and help create a welcoming environment for everyone.
Weather and Trail Conditions
Trail conditions can change rapidly.
Heavy rain, extreme heat, strong winds and erosion may affect trail safety and accessibility.
Always use your own judgement before proceeding.
Personal Safety
The trails traverse public open spaces and natural areas.
Users remain responsible for their own personal safety and security at all times.
Community safety initiatives, including trail monitoring and strategic camera installations by local partners, may assist in improving overall safety but cannot eliminate risk.
Tell Someone Your Plans
Where possible, let a friend or family member know which route you intend to use and when you expect to return.
Emergencies
In an emergency:
- Contact emergency services immediately.
- Share your location where possible.
- Assist others only if it is safe to do so.
Emergency: 10111 / 112 · Help line: 046 622 7000
Help Us Maintain the Network
If you encounter trail damage, erosion, fallen trees, safety concerns or maintenance issues, please report them through the Contact Us page.
The more people who use, care for and support the trails, the stronger and safer the network becomes for the entire community.
